In a world increasingly dominated by fast-paced urban lifestyles and processed foods, Two Brothers Organic Farms stands as a testament to a return to natural, sustainable living. Founded by brothers Satyajit and Ajinkya Hange, former successful bankers who left their careers to reconnect with their farming roots. They now provide chemical-free food products, including premium ghee, cold-pressed oils, traditional pickles, superfood grains, millets, and more, to discerning customers both in their home country and abroad.

It’s this commitment to quality and sustainability that’s helping them rapidly expand. The business is growing 100% year-on-year, and as a brand, they expect to maintain a similar growth rate over the next five years. During this time, they aim to achieve a revenue target of 5 billion rupees and expand overseas to capture a share of the $206 billion global organic food market. Two Brothers Organic Farms already enjoys a notable presence in many Indian cities and in the past three years they have shipped their products to over 61 countries through their e-commerce site and app.

With their bestselling product –  varieties of premium ghee (clarified butter) poised to become a household staple in both urban and international markets, the company is focused on strengthening its top product categories to cater to the growing demand for organic food products in its target global markets which include USA, United Kingdom, Dubai and Australia. By offering international customers clean and healthy food products the brand targets to capture at least 20% of Brand Gross Merchandise Value (GMV), that quantifies the total value of products sold over a given period through a customer-to-customer exchange site.

“We decided to leave our 9-5 job to embrace organic farming as a full-time profession and way of living,’’ Satyajit and Ajinkya Hange said. “We started with the aim of helping more consumers embrace organic food habits and reverse the damage caused by chemical and pesticide-led farming practices.’’

Their commitment to health is evident in their diverse product range-—all crafted to cater to the growing demand for nutritious, organic food options both locally and internationally. While the majority of its over 150 products are popular among consumers, their value-added organic products such as Cultured A2 Ghee, liquid jaggery, traditional pickles, groundnut wood-pressed oil, peanut butter and Chyawanprash have been among the top picks. Additionally, Two Brothers millets and millet-based products are popular among international consumers as an alternative to staples like rice and wheat.

“We noticed that most of the Indian urban population was unaware of the virtues of healthy, nourishing natural food and the ills of consuming chemical-laden produce,’’ the Hange brothers said.

The farm itself is key to their products.

Located near the city of Pune in Maharashtra, India it has become a canvas for sustainable cultivation. From its humble beginnings, the farm has flourished into a 23-acre ECOCERT Certified organic farm, underscoring their commitment to maintaining biodiversity and achieving self-sustainability—a cornerstone of their farming philosophy.

Their efforts have extended beyond their own farm; they have positively impacted over 5,000 farmers, helping them transition to regenerative farming methods. This initiative not only supports local farmers but also contributes to environmental conservation, having saved an impressive 2,500 metric tonnes of CO2 in a single financial year.

The brand represents a testament to the enduring appeal of India’s rich culinary heritage and its commitment to responsible farming practices in a rapidly evolving global marketplace. As they spread their roots across continents, their journey is one of passion, tradition, and a commitment to nourishing both people and the planet.
