Unlike other regions of the world, Singapore is a birthplace of many technologies and putting them to use is an everyday expectation. In this technology-enabled and forward thinking culture, technology plays an increasingly pivotal role in the industry, both in how operators run their business, and in how they interact with the customer. No one knows this better that our speakers who kick off the FSTEC-Asia conversation by exploring the cutting-edge innovations used within Singapore’s foodservice and hospitality sectors. Industry leaders Loh Lik Peng of Unlisted Corporation, Benjamin Boh of McDonald’s Singapore, along with moderator Rob Grimes of the IFBTA will discuss the import and export of technology and innovation, and its impact today and in the future of our industry. They will discuss what is in the works, as well as the latest developments in F&B technology and customer engagement.

Robert (“Rob”) Grimes is the Founder & CEO of the IFBTA (the Food and Beverage Technology Association) and is the Host of the TechBytes podcast.
The IFBTA was launched at FSTEC (Foodservice Technology Conference and Showcase) 2014 which was founded by Rob in 1996 and is a non-profit professional association promoting and advancing technology and innovation for the global food and beverage industries.
Prior to establishing the IFBTA, Rob also founded ConStrata Technology Consulting and its predecessor companies, which have been providing information technology consulting services for the global hospitality, foodservice and retail industries and is headquartered in Potomac, Maryland since 1994.
In addition to Accelerate, Rob is a regular technology contributor to many industry and technology publications in the U.S. and abroad as well as co-authored and contributed to several books. He has spoken at over 1,000 industry shows, conferences and events around the world. He is a Past Chairman and Executive Committee member of the Penn State Hotel & Restaurant Society, as well as a Conti Professor in the School of Hospitality Management at Penn State University, as well as serving on the Industry Advisory Board of the Hospitality Programs at University of South Florida, and as a Board Member Emeritus of the programs at the University of Delaware, and the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
Rob is a member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s F&B Committee and has served on the Board of the National Restaurant Association. He is an active member of the of The Young Presidents Organization (YPO) having served in leadership positions as the Chair of YPO’s Food & Beverage, Hospitality, Doing Business Globally and Travel Networks.
Loh Lik Peng

Dynamic hotelier and restaurateur, Loh Lik Peng was born in Dublin, Ireland on May 4, 1972 to Singapore parents who were practicing medicine there at the time. He attended Law school in England, University of Sheffield and Postgraduate at London School of Economics followed by bar exams in London before returning to Singapore in 1997. Loh became a corporate litigator upon his return before leaving the profession to step into the hospitality industry. Since then, Loh has started ventures across Singapore, Shanghai, London and Sydney under the Unlisted Collection:
Loh is a member of Singapore Tourism Board’s (STB) Tourism Consultative Council. In 2004, the Singapore Tourism Board awarded Loh with the “New Tourism Entrepreneur Award” for his work in transforming a simple shop house into Hotel 1929. He was once again awarded the “Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year” award at the Singapore Experience Awards 2011, the most prestigious awards platform in Singapore’s tourism industry. In 2016, he was awarded World Gourmet Summit’s “Lifetime Achievement Award” which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions in the food and beverage industry.
Loh served as a Chairman for Singapore Philatelic Museum (SPM) during the period from 2012 to 2016, Director for Mercy Relief (MR) during the period from 2014 to 2017 and Chairman for Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) and The Peranakan Museum (TPM) from 2016 to 2021, member of Singapore Hotel Association (SHA) Board from 2007 to 2018 and 1st Vice President of SHA from 2017 to 2018.
Currently, he is the Chairman for Singapore Cruise Centre Pte Ltd (SCCPL), Singapore Hotel and Tourism Education Centre (SHATEC) and School of Arts Singapore (SOTA). Loh is also the Deputy Chairman of Singapore Land Authority (SLA) as well holds the Directorship for National Heritage Board (NHB), National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) and Singapore Land Authority (SLA). He is also serving with the Urban Redevelopment Authority, Singapore (URA) as a Conservation Advisory Panel.
